For the launch of the new series “Il Gattopardo”, inspired by the homonymous novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, we have curated the realization of an artistic installation and a suggestive historical reenactment.
From the 26th of February to the 1st of March, Piazza San Babila in Milan hosted a spectacular installation dedicated to the book. The structure, measuring 4.00 x 3.45 m x 4.50 m in height, was clad with wooden panels and stabilized with an internal weight of 800 kg. The presence of 3D elements escaping from the pages of the book were the distinctive elements of the installation, symbolizing the book that comes to life. On the sides of the installation, five informative totems have told the story of the Unification of Italy, with texts in Italian and English, offering visitors an enriching cultural journey.
To make the experience even more immersive, on Saturday, March 1st, the installation was enriched with a musical activation. Two classical musicians, on violin and guitar, performed live the songs of the series’ soundtrack, creating an evocative and engaging atmosphere for the audience.
To crown the celebrations, on March, 3rd, on the occasion of the premiere of the series at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, we organized a historical re-enactment that brought about a hundred figures dressed as Garibaldi in the heart of the capital. The participants, dressed in perfect vintage style, marched in formation through the streets of Rome, waving Italian flags to the rhythm of two drums. The parade ended in the square of the theatre, creating a strong visual and historical impact for all those present.
With this initiative, we have offered the public an engaging experience that combines culture, art and entertainment, enhancing the Italian historical and literary heritage through a dramatic and emotional language.
