BIOGRAPHY
Winner of the 74th edition of The Sanremo Festival, Angelina Mango is the first woman in 10 years to triumph at the most important musical and televised event in Italy.
The young singer-songwriter, only 23 years old, will represent Italy at The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song “La Noia” (“Boredom”), a contemporary cumbia written together with Madame and Dardust, who also produced the song with E.D.D..

Since her first performance of “La Noia” (“Boredom”), Angelina Mango has racked up millions of streams and views accumulating unanimous approval from both the public and critics. The song, certified double platinum, broke the record for the most streamed song by a female solo artist ever on Spotify’s daily chart. It has collected a total of more than 100 million audio and video streams, reaching the top of all the charts, gaining a place in the Top 100 on Spotify Global and on YouTube Global and peaking also at #1 of Italy’s radio charts.

“La Noia” gained a place in more than 25 Viral Charts through Europe, entering for example in Top30 in UK.

The song scored more than 28 million views on YouTube with the official video and more than 8 million views for the video of her Sanremo performance.

With “La Noia” (“Boredom”) Angelina also won the “Lucio Dalla Press award” voted by accredited radio, TV and web and the “Giancarlo Bigazzi award for Best Musical Composition”, which was awarded by the Sanremo Festival Orchestra.

Angelina Mango is the revelation singer-songwriter of the year, continuously topping the Italian charts. In just a few months she has already gained 7 platinum records as well as 2 gold records, collecting more than 360 million audio and video streams. After a sold-out club tour in October 2023, a new leg of the tour in the autumn 2024 is selling out date by date, doubling the appointments in Naples and Rome and triplicating the ones in Milan and then, for the first time, she’ll tour European clubs. In summer 2024, Angelina Mango will also headline the most prestigious music festivals in Italy and Europe, such as the Isle of Wight Festival in UK.

After participating in the TV programme “Amici” where she won the singing category, the critics award and the radio award, she dominated the summer of 2023 with her song “Ci pensiamo domani” (“We’ll worry about it tomorrow”). It certified triple platinum with more than 78 million streams and 21 million views, and also entered the TOP 10 of the EARONE airplay radio chart of the most played songs on radio.
It was the single “Che t’o dico a fa’” (“Why do I bother”), published in October 2023, that confirmed the unstoppable success of this young artist. Double platinum record and #1 most played song on radio. In the first week of publication, it reached the top of the FIMI chart of most listened to singles on all platforms in Italy. It also reached the top of the social rankings of the most used original sound on TikTok, for the creation of content through the use of the official sound of the song.

Not long after, she released the previously unpublished “Fila Indiana” (“Single file”), part of the soundtrack to the TV Series “Noi siamo leggenda” (“We are legend”), broadcast on Rai 2 and Prime Video.

With “La Noia” and the other singles “Ci pensiamo domani” and “Che t’o dico a fa’” Angelina is present in the Daily Top200 Songs Italy and reached more than 81 million views with the official videos of her three singles.

After performing on stage during the summer of 2023 with artists such as Tiziano Ferro and Guè Pequeno and receiving a special mention at the 2023 Lunezia Awards, in the autumn Angelina Mango headlined her first tour “Voglia di vivere Tour” (“The desire to live Tour”), (produced by Live Nation) in clubs across Italy. A completely sold-out tour, during which Angelina Mango was able to embrace for the first time her live audience. This journey was also the first tour of a female solo artist to become a series on TikTok, with the title “Voglio di vivere in tour” (“The desire to live on tour”). Through daily videos Angelina Mango revealed fun and exciting behind the scenes moments and experiences shared with her band at each concert. The series finished with a special two-part episode where more unseen footage from backstage was revealed.

Much loved by Gen Z also on social, Angelina Mango has more than 1.4 million followers on Instagram, while on TikTok she has registered more than 700 thousand followers and more than 11 million likes.
Angelina Mango’s music is a mix, brought together through various influences like Italian rap, American rap, R&B and instrumental music. This allows her to wander between different genres and bring to the stage music that is fresh and original, using her intense voice full of emotion. In her music the singer-songwriter addresses relevant topics like the anxieties of Gen Z, love, the need for freedom and the value of family, fusing together an urban style and a beautiful voice.

Originally from Lagonegro (PZ), class of 2001, Angelina Mango debuted in 2020 with her first EP “Monolocale” (“Studio flat”) which was followed by the singles “Formica” (“Ant”), “Walkman” (Produced by Tiziano Ferro) and “Rituali” (“Rituals”) Feat Nashley.

Her first brand new album, “poké melodrama” is to be released on 31st May 2024.

Often sadness is the beginning of a new found happiness. In a moment where everything seems still and static, boredom should be welcomed and used as time for ourselves, to discover and rediscover ourselves. Being proactive by making small changes, especially internal ones, helps to overcome obstacles with determination.

This is the thought that Angelina Mango shares in the song “La Noia”, written with Madame and Dardust who also produced the song with E.D.D., with whom she won the Sanremo Festival 2024 and which she presented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.

Between the typical sounds of the Columbian Cumbia, electronic elements and a captivating rhythm, there also leaves room for her extensive vocal ability. Angelina embraces and describes with passion and authenticity, a feeling of boredom, which has rarely been used in songs and she acts as a spokesperson of the emotions, hopes, dreams and fears of her generation.

After a record year, gaining 8 platinum records and 2 gold records with a total of 370 million audio and video streams, Angelina Mango won the Sanremo Festival, participating for the very first time and becoming the first woman to win the Festival in 10 years. At the Sanremo Festival Angelina also won the “Lucio Dalla” award assigned by the web, radio and TV press, and the “Giancarlo Bigazzi” award for the best musical composition.

“La Noia” is certified double platinum and has recorded over 109 million audio and video streams. It has entered into the Top 25 European Viral Charts and climbed to the top of the radio airplay in Italy.

LA NOIA – VIDEOCLIP
In the video clip of the song Angelina Mango represents and personifies boredom, taking on an almost divine like appearance. The beginning of the video clip immortalises Angelina’s preparation phase, on the day that boredom is welcomed and celebrated, just like a pagan ritual. Inside the house four ladies dress her whilst she is surrounded by her two younger sisters who are obviously bored as they wait for their older sister to get ready. The preparation continues and Angelina is almost ready: a tangle of braids characterises her hairstyle which appears many times in the video. The process of preparation for this celebration of boredom creates a mysterious, at times, mystical imagery and when it’s complete the moment of worship occurs. The Boredom has completed its preparation and is ready to go out. The video ends with the key elements of boredom and staticity which is reflected in the bodies of the people that surround it.

Angelina tells the story of this song with personality and charisma, letting her female pride shine through. The video clip can also be interpretated as a tribute to female empowerment seen as only female characters are present and Angelina gives a strong and energetic performance. The video has reached over 31 million views.

LA NOIA FEAT ALVARO DE LUNA
The collaboration between Angelina and the young Spanish singer-songwriter – who boasts over 2 million monthly listeners, 13 platinum records and numerous hits that have topped the radio charts in Spain – came from a meeting between the two artists in the studio in Milan and sees for the first time ever Angelina Mango singing in Spanish.

PERFORMANCE@EUROVISIONE 2024
The performance is a journey into Angelina Mango’s personality. From its roots that become thorns and then transform into roses and wisteria (which Angelina has tattooed on her arm). It is the representation of the force of nature of this 23 year old girl, who for the first time is facing such a big, important stage. With 5 other women by her side, together they stand for the strength of women and all their wonderful differences. The performance begins with Angelina lying on the ground. Her hair comes braids, that then become branches, ready to invade the entire scenery made of transparent LED cubes that show a glimpse of the dancers. The cubes begin to rise upwards and the scenery opens up, her in the centre moving with the choreography by Mecnun Giasar – former choreographer to Rosalia and Madonna – who worked closely with Angelina to bring to the stage an authentic representation of herself, also on an expressive level. During the performance Angelina runs across the whole stage, shaped in a cross, to reach the audience on all sides. Then there is the most intimate moment of all, for the a capella part of the song the entire Malmo Arena turns off, to leave space only for Angelina’s voice and emotions. From that moment on, it’s an explosion of colors, lights and pyrotechnics from above, with Angelina rising to the throne, surrounded by her girls, with the writing TOTAL behind her for a finale full of strength and joy.
